Snow-Covered Roadway Causes Crash on Route 62

TIONESTA TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say around 8:00 p.m. on January 21, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Route 62, 500 feet south of Stewart Run Road, in Tionesta Township, Forest County.

According to police, 47-year-old Laura I. Divido, of Tionesta, was traveling north on Route 62 when she lost control of her 2005 Chevrolet Equinox on the snow and slush covered roadway.

The vehicle traveled off the northbound lane and struck an embankment and then traveled on the embankment before returning to the roadway. It then crossed both lanes and struck a guide rail off the southbound lane where it came to a final rest.

Divido and her passenger, 40-year-old Ruben D. Gillenwater, of Pleasantville, were using seat belts and were not injured.

Divido was charged with a traffic violation.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Frank’s Auto Body.

Tionesta Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
