US Marshals Searching for Woman Who Allegedly Stole Vehicle in Franklin

FRANKLIN, Pa. (EYT) — According to the Franklin Police Department, a 29-year-old woman faces multiple felony charges for allegedly stealing a vehicle and other items from a residence in Franklin, Venango County.

Police say sometime between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on January 23, Rachel L. Shotts, 29, allegedly entered a residence in the 1300 block of New Street while the victim was asleep and removed a TV and possibly other items. She also allegedly took the keys to the victim’s vehicle in which she ultimately stole.

According to police, numerous sources confirmed that Shotts intended to travel to Detroit, MI.

On January 27, police learned that Shotts had allegedly left the stolen vehicle at a Kroger grocery store in either Ohio or Michigan.

Through information obtained through the victim and a friend, police were able to determine that Shotts left the vehicle at a Kroger store in Lincoln Park, MI.

The police agency from that area was contacted and the stolen vehicle was located and recovered.

According to police, Shotts was not with the vehicle.

Shotts has been charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle (Felony); Burglary (Felony); Theft (Misdemeanor 1); and Unlawful Flight to Avoid Apprehension or Prosecution (Felony).

Her current location is unknown.

Police say the U.S. Marshall Service is searching for Shotts.
