VENANGO CATHOLIC 62, REDBANK VALLEY 55

Brady Kingston scored a game-high 22 points to go with eight rebounds to lead No. 11 Venango Catholic to a 62-55 win over No. 8 Redbank Valley Friday night at Venango.

“I thought Brady played pretty well,” Venango Catholic Ed McIntyre said. “He attacked the rim in the open floor, he took care of the ball well for us and he played pretty good defense. I thought he played a great all-around game.”

The Vikings (12-4), who used a 10-2 run late in the third quarter to build a 10-point lead, had a quick 5-0 spurt midway through the fourth quarter to go ahead 55-45 with 3:15 to play.

Redbank Valley (14-4) used a quick 8-0 run to get back within two, 55-53, with 2:03 to play on a Sam Heeter 3-pointer. Heeter also had an old-school three during the spurt.
