HICKORY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a hit-and-run accident occurred on Townline Road, (Township Route 363), in Hickory Township, Forest County.

State Police say the crash occurred around 8:00 p.m. on January 20, 2015.

According to police, 27-year-old Benjamin N. Gilbert, of Tionesta, was traveling on Townline Road in his 1993 Honda Civic.

Police say the vehicle failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway, leaving the left side of the road striking multiple trees.

Gilbert allegedly fled the scene without notifying police, as required, police say.

Gilbert was not injured in the crash.

Citations are pending at this time, according to police.
