Venus Man Escapes Injury in Rollover Crash in Cranberry Township

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Franklin-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Big Egypt Road, 1608 feet north of Miller Lane, in Cranberry Township, Venango County,

Police say around 5:10 p.m. on January 29, 22-year-old Matthew D. Eakin, of Cranberry, lost control of his 2003 Dodge Ram and exited the roadway.

His vehicle struck an embankment and rolled over, according to police.

He suffered moderate injuries and was transported to UPMC Northwest.

He was not using a seat belt.

Two passenger, 18-year-old Austin J. Best, of Oil City, and 20-year-old Joseph Crate, of Venus, were using seat belts and were not injured.

Eakin was charged with a traffic violation.

Seneca Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
