PAINT TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, a two-vehicle crash occurred around 5:54 p.m. on January 31, on State Route 322, in Paint Township, Clarion County.

Police say the crash occurred as 21-year-old Alexander M. Niklas, of Sharon, was traveling southbound on State Route 66 in a 2003 Mercury Sable.

While at the intersection of SR 322, Niklas failed to stop at a traffic signal showing a red light. His vehicle traveled through the intersection and was struck in its 7 o’clock position by a 2010 Lincoln MKZ driven by Patricia L. King, 45, of Shippenville, according to police.

King had been traveling westbound on SR 322 and had a green traffic signal at the time of the collision. Her vehicle traveled approximately 100 feet after impact and came to a final rest in the parking lot of Country Fair, police say.

Niklas’ vehicle spun around facing south in the northbound lane on SR 66 while traveling approximately 200 feet before coming to a final rest.

Both drivers and Niklas’ passenger — Kenneth T. Goodman, 28, of Kane Pa. — were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

No injuries were reported.

Niklas was cited with a traffic violation.
