Prudence Kay Kifer

Prudence Kay Kifer, 84, of 24 Southwest Blvd. Oil City, PA. died at 9:00 P.M. Wednesday Feb. 4, 2015 at her home following an extended illness.

Born June 7, 1930 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Ralph Voith & Freda Irwin Voith. Kay was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School. She went to the Oil City School of Nursing and graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Nursing.

She had been a Captain in the United States Air Force.

She was married in the Reno Methodist Church on June 28, 1957 to James R. Kifer and he survives. Kay had worked for the Intermediate Unit as a Home School Visitor for the Pennsylvania Department of Education and later worked as a Registered Nurse at Polk Center. Mrs. Kifer was of the Methodist Faith.

She had belonged to numerous bridge clubs, the Thursday Golf League at Cross Creek Resort and the Friday Golf League at Sleepy Hollow.

She was a past member and President of the Belles Lettres Club.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Scott Amsdell of Seneca Steve Amsdell & his wife Wendy of Wexford Randy & Laura Pullease of Oil City.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara H. Pullease and Lorraine V. Amsdell; two brothers, Robert J. Voith and Ralph E. Voith; and a nephew Rick Pullease.

Friends will be received from 2:30P.M.-3:00 P.M. Saturday in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. with Rev. William Hastings, Pastor of the Seneca United Methodist Church, Presiding.
