Gladene L. Kline

Gladene L. Kline, age 97, of New Bethlehem, passed away Saturday morning, February 7, 2015, at Laurelbrook Landing in Brookville.

Born September 12, 1917 in Reidsburg, Clarion County, she was a daughter of the late Harry Andrew Over and Carrie Humphrey Over.

Gladene was a graduate of the Clarion High School.

On September 12, 1945, in Reidsburg, she married Arnold James Kline. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1996.

Gladene was a homemaker and mother. Prior to her marriage and during World War II, she worked at Owens Illinois in Clarion.
In earlier years, she enjoyed quilting, playing and challenging her grandchildren at Scrabble and attending garage sales.
Gladene was a member of the First United Methodist Church of New Bethlehem and the United Methodist Women. She was a former member of the New Bethlehem Civic Club.

Survivors include three sons and a daughter: Bob Kline and wife Marsha, of Bettendorf, IA; Ken Kline and wife Kathy, of Coatesville; David Kline and wife Cindy, of Oak Ridge and Mary Lou McNabb of Pawley’s Island, SC.

Gladene is also survived by eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a sister, Pauline Muir of Clarion.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great granddaughter, Mia Galvin; sisters: Allene, Twila, and Connie Over, Marjorie Curll and twin infants, Blanda and Beula Over; son-in law, John McNabb and a daughter-in-law, Ann Miller Kline. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Jodie Smith, a pastor of the Redbank Valley United Methodist Ministry, officiating over the service.

Interment will take place in the Churchville Cemetery in Curllsville, Clarion County.
