Car Crashes into Truck, Becomes Attached to It on I-80, Beaver Township

BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, around 9:37 a.m. on February 9, a two-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 West, at mile marker 51.1, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

Police say 26-year-old Chelsie R. Hockenberry, of Ellwood City, and 62-year-old Barry M. Bartley, of New Millport, were involved in the collision.

According to police, this crash occurred as a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, driven by Hockenberry, and a 2010 International Harvester Loanstar, driven by Bartley, were traveling west on I-80.

Police say the car was traveling in the left lane and crossed into the right lane, striking the truck from behind. Then, it became attached to the truck for a short distance, before breaking free.

The car then traveled onto the northern shoulder of the roadway and impacted a guard rail where it came to a final rest, according to police.

Hockenberry suffered minor injuries. She was using a seat belt.

Bartley was also using a seat belt and was not injured.

Hockenberry was charged with a traffic violation.

Knox Volunteer Fire Department, Knox EMS, and Hovis Towing assisted a the scene.
