HOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Marienville-based State Police say a one-vehicle accident occurred on February 9 around 6:00 p.m. on Byromtown Road, 886 feet south of State Route 1005, in Howe Township, Forest County.

According to police, the crash occurred as Stephen K. Forry, 57, of Marienville, was traveling south on Blue Jay Creek Road, and he lost control of his 2004 Dodge Dakota on the ice-covered road.

Police say he impacted the guide rail on the northbound side of the roadway before coming back across the southbound lane and impacting a ditch.

Forry was able to bring his vehicle to a controlled stop south of the point of impact, according to police.

Forry was using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was not injured.
