Police Release Details in Summerville Burglary

SUMMERVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, a Burglary occurred at a residence in Summerville Borough, Jefferson County.

Police say the crime occurred sometime between February 28 and March 20 of 2012, when a known perpetrator entered the victim’s residence and removed two bank checks from a new book of checks.

The suspect then made the check out for $250.00 and forged the victim’s name. The suspect then attempted to cash said check, but not before an alert teller made contact with the victim who verified that the check had been stolen from her house.

Police say the investigation continues.
