BEAVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, around 7:35 a.m. on February 14, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 East, 1033 feet west of State Route 338, in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

Police say 79-year-old Edward L. Garrison, of Steubenville, Ohio, was traveling eastbound in the right lane on I-80 in a 2006 Dodge Dakota. The roadway was snow-covered and had icy patches.

Garrison lost control of his pickup, and it slid sideways from the right lane into the left lane. Then, the vehicle slid sideways into a ditch where it turned 180 degrees and came to a final rest on its passenger’s side.

Garrison and a passenger, 75-year-old Sharon Garrison, also of Steubenville, Ohio, were not injured in the crash. Both were using seat belts.

Garrison was not cited due to the roadway conditions.

Frye’s Towing assisted at the scene.
