Robert L. Patton, Sr.

Robert L. Patton, Sr., age 92, of Knox, went to be with the Lord early Thursday morning, February 12, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born September 27, 1922 in Knox, he was a son of the late Ralph Patton and Nora Cope Patton.

Bob was a graduate of Knox High School, attended Clarion and Edinboro State Teachers Colleges and was a United States Army veteran, serving during World War II.

He was a minister in the United Methodist Church, serving in Methodist churches in Luthersburg, Shippenville, Little Corners (Saegertown), Johnstown, Grampian and retired in 1988 to the Knox Charge.

Bob married Martha E. Switzer who preceded him in death on April 29, 1992. He then married the former Joan Wetzel on June 26, 1993 and she survives.

Also surviving are his five children: Darlene Sue Walker and her husband, Thomas, of Westminster, S.C.; Patty Lou Patrick and her husband, Jerry, of Grampian; Robert Lee Patton, Jr. and his wife, Sharon, of Grampian; Valerie Flynn and her husband, Ed, of Fairfield and Gregory Patton of Grampian; Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Bob is also survived by three step daughters: Lisa Lieberum and her husband, John, of Biglerville; Melissa Johnson of Knox and Betsy Allmendinger and her husband, David, also of Knox and 14 step grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and first wife, Bob was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy and Martha; brother, Henry; twins, Paul and Pauline and a beloved grandson, Steven Patton.

Burial took place in the Rimersburg Cemetery.
