Passenger Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash in Shippenville

SHIPPENVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) — Clarion-based State Police say a two-vehicle crash occurred around 8:50 a.m. on February 17, in Shippenville Borough, Clarion County.

According to police, Shane A. Thompson, 29 of Emlenton was traveling westbound on State Route 322 in a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier and was stopped at the intersection of Main Street and Second Avenue while waiting to make a left hand turn onto State Route 208.

Newton Booth, 79, and passenger Norbert C. Gallagher, 83, both of Strattanville, were traveling westbound in a 2000 Honda Accord. Booth failed to stop and impacted the rear of Thompson’s vehicle.

Gallagher suffered moderate injuries and was transported to the Clarion Hospital by Shippenville Ambulance Service.

All vehicle occupants were wearing seat belts.

Booth was issued a traffic violation.
