Carol J. Geyer

Carol J. Geyer, 71, of 115 Spruce Street, Marienville, died Wednesday morning, February 18, 2015 at her home.

Born April 15, 1943 in Brownsville, Pa., she was the daughter of Duane “Dick” and Jean Boyd Markley. On February 27, 1960 in Homestead, she married Donald C. Geyer, who survives.

Carol was a member of the Marienville Presbyterian Church, where she was an Elder. She also belonged to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Marienville.

She owned an operated Carol’s Cafe for over twenty years, then Geyer’s Flower Shop for several years, both in Marienville.

Surviving, in addition to her former husband of Marienville, are three sons, Mark Geyer, Greg Geyer and Mike Geyer, all of Marienville; two sisters, Toni Neil of New Salem and Bonnie VanDivner of West Brownsville; and two brothers, James Markley of Burgettstown and Fred Markley of Austell, Ga. Five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home in Marienville on Friday from 6:00 until 9:00, and may attend a funeral service at 11:00 on Saturday at the Marienville Presbyterian Church with the rev. Boyd Edmondson, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park near Brownsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clarion Forest VNA Hospice, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA 16214.
