Franklyn A. “Bud” Faivre

Franklyn A. “Bud” Faivre, a lifelong resident of Grove City, died at 9:32 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, in Countryside Nursing Home, Mercer, following a lengthy illness. He was 90.

Franklyn was born Jan. 9, 1925, in Grove City, to the late Cornelius Charles and Mary Spencer Faivre.

He married Georgia Romaine Peters on April 10, 1946; she preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 2002.

Mr. Faivre retired from General Electric Corp., Grove City. Formerly, he was a sales manager with Montgomery Ward, in Hermitage and Butler.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.

Bud served in the Pacific 534 Company during World War II with the Army. He was stationed in Australia.

He was a lifelong member of the Elks lodge and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 519 and American Legion Post 220.

He enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include two daughters, Marcia L. Campbell and her husband Rodney Sr., Franklin; and Bonnie J. Rihel and her husband Jerry, Grove City; six grandchildren, Julie Danzer and Rodney Campbell Jr., both Franklin; Dr. Michael A. Campbell and his wife Colleen, Westport, Mass.; Jennifer L. Davis and her husband Brandon, Hot Springs, Ark.; Sean T. Rihel and his wife Lisa, Grove City; and Janine Brown, Grove City; 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Faivre Smith, Cedarville, Mich.; and two nephews and one niece.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Faivre Downs.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday (2-22-15) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

A Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (2-23-15) in the funeral home, with the Rev. Willard Morse, visitation pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City, officiating.

Burial is at Crestview Memorial Park Inc., Grove City.
