Charles S. WagnerCharles “Stu” Wagner, 85, of Shippenville, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, at his home.

Born on November 10, 1929 on his family’s homestead in Shippenville; he was the son of Charles M. and Bessie I. Snyder Wagner.

Stew was married on July 22, 1950 to the former Mary Jane McClain, and she survives.

He started his trucking career with Kiser Coal Company. He then retired after 43 years from Amos L. Dolby Company.

Stew was a member of the Kahletown Community Church since 1979. He was also a member of the Rod and Gun Club of Knox and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Mary Jane, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Finefrock of Shippenville and Cindy Miller of Clarion; three grandchildren, Kelly Johnston (Rick) of Derry, Angie Finefrock of Shippenville, and Wylie Miller (Carrie) of Clarion; and seven great grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Finefrock of Shippenville, and Logan, Gavin, Rylan, Connor, and Erin Johnston of Derry.

Also surviving are a brother, Clyde Wagner of Endeavor and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Lavena Benn, Alice Gordon, Mildred Space, Mae Jones, and Louise Waite; an infant sister, Mary Ann Wagner; and two infant brothers.

There will be no viewing.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at the Kahletown Community Church, Fisher-Siegel Road, Sigel, with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald, pastor of the Kahletown Community Church, officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, 638 Wood Street, Clarion.

Interment was held in the Kahletown Cemetery, Jefferson County.
