Clarion U. Men’s Basketball Ends Season Tonight at IUP

CLARION, Pa. — The Clarion University men’s basketball team closes out its 2014-15 season at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when it visits IUP.

The Golden Eagles reached double digits in wins Sunday with an exciting 72-70 win over Slippery Rock, which also secured a winning record at home for Clarion (10-15 overall, 7-14 PSAC West) in head coach Marcess Williams first season.

Clarion has doubled last year’s win total of five and can match the total number of victories from the last two seasons with a win over the Crimson Hawks (22-5, 16-5), who are coming off a 78-65 win over Pitt-Johnstown Saturday.

Clarion is led by sophomore guard BJ Andrews, who ranks 16th in the PSC in scoring at 14.1 points per game. Andrews has been on fire in his last seven contests averaging 21.7 ppg while scoring 20 or more points seven times on the season with a high of 30. He had 24 in the win over Slippery Rock Sunday.

Also for the Golden Eagles, Kyheim Hall scores 12.6 ppg while adding a team-high 6.3 rpg and ranks second in the PSAC in steals with 2.2 per game. Darius Stevens chips in 12.5 points and 5.8 rpg.

IUP is paced by Devante Chance’s 15.6 ppg and 5.9 apg, while Shawn Dyer adds 1
