13-Year-Old Boy Flown to Hospital after Car Crashes into Horse

SALEM TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — A car versus horse accident occurred this afternoon in Salem Township, Clarion County.

According to Clarion County OES, emergency crews were dispatched at 3:52 p.m. on Friday, February 27, in response to a collision that occurred on Route 208 in Salem Township.

Sources say a 13-year old boy was riding a horse when it was spooked, went out onto Route 208, and was struck by a car traveling down the road.

The boy was life-flighted from the scene.

A source close to the family says the boy has a concussion.

The horse was killed as a result of the accident.

It is unknown whether the driver of the car was injured in the collision.

Clarion County OES reports that the following agencies responded to the scene: Knox Ambulance, Knox Volunteer Fire Department, Clarion-based State Police, and STAT MedEvac.
