Glen Scott

1b443c7e8f53e4ef[1]Glen Scott, 77, of Kennerdell, formerly of Clintonville, passed away February 25, 2015 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie.

Born January 13, 1938 in Venango Twp, Butler County, he was the son of Ralph Scott and Laura Moore Scott.

Glen married Mary Burk on May 18, 1963 and she survives.

Glen retired from L.T.V. Steel Mill in Youngstown, OH and Aliquippa, PA.

Glen worked numerous other jobs doing carpentry work, building houses, and other buildings throughout the area, including the building of Chapel on the Hill Assembly of God in Emlenton where he as a current and charter member.

Glen served his country in the United States Army from 1958 through 1960. He served 18 months in Germany as a bridge specialist, before being honorably discharged.

Glen was a member of the Clintonville Volunteer Fire Department for 29 years. He served in numerous positions in the fire department, including 25 years as assistant chief.

Glen “Scottie” was an active member of the Clintonville Lions Club for many years, his position in the club as the Tail Twister has cost many fellow Lions plenty of quarters.

In earlier years, Glen enjoyed hunting and gardening.

Later in life he enjoyed yard sales, playing games, camping, and spending time with his family.

Glen is survived by his wife Mary of Kennerdell and his children; Darlene Savage and her husband Dale of Emlenton, Diane Moore and her husband Russ of Grove City, and Darryl Scott and his wife Kim of Franklin. His Grandchildren; Nathan Moore and his wife Amanda, Scott Moore, Becky Savage, Tim Savage, and Andrew Scott. Two great grandsons; Joshua and Theo Moore. A brother Joe Scott of Emlenton, a brother in law George Rea on Clintonville, brother in law Richard Burk and his wife Gloria of Clintonville, and a brother in law Bill Burk and his wife Ellie of Florida.

He was proceeded in death by his parents and brothers Merle, Delbert, Freeman, Harold, Ernie, and Wade Scott. A sister Stella Ruby and a sister in law Evelyn Rea.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9.

Funeral service will take place at Chapel on the Hill Assembly of God, 6202 Emlenton-Clintonville Road, Emlenton, PA on Saturday February 28, 2015 at 11:00 am with the Rev. Chris Clark officiating.
