Local NewsSportsBelko Scores Again on Second Day of PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championship; Clarion 14thChris RossettiPublished March 2, 2015 5:12 amEDINBORO, Pa. — Kristen Belko completed a strong performance at the 2015 PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships by taking seventh in the high jump and scoring two points for Clarion University Sunday afternoon at Edinboro. Belko’s leap of 5-feet, 4 ¼ inches on her second try at the height meant she scored six of Clarion’s eight points at the championship, which tied the Golden Eagles for 14th place with Mansfield. The junior just missed scoring in the triple jump leaping 35-feet, 6-inches to finish 10th, just 5 ½ inches out of the scoring. Katie Chambers was also a near-scorer for Clarion Sunday finishing 12th in the 800-meter run in a personal-best time of 2:21.08, about a 1 ½ seconds out of scoring. Chambers was also a member of Clarion’s oh-so-close 4×400-meter relay team which took ninth in a school-record time of 4:04.17, also approximately 1 ½ seconds off. She was joined on the team by Courtney Corban, Tatiana Cloud and Anna Pfingstler. Six of Clarion’s eight points at the meet came Saturday when Belko scored four points by taking fifth in the pentathlon with a school-record 3,226 points and Jessica Hamrick finished seventh in the pole vault with a school-record height of 10-feet, 8 ¼ inches.
