Driver Loses Control of Vehicle on Icy Road in Knox Township, Shears Utility Pole

KNOX TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — According to Clarion-based State Police, a one-vehicle crash occurred on State Route 66 in Knox Township, Clarion County.

Police say the accident occurred around 6:06 a.m. on February 16, as 39-year-old Timothy R. Bell , of Knox, was traveling south on SR 66.

Bell lost control of his 2004 Chevrolet Silverado on the icy roadway as he was negotiating a left curve, according to police.

His vehicle crossed the centerline into the northbound lane and then exited the roadway off of the east shoulder. Then, the vehicle slammed into a utility pole, shearing the pole and causing telephone lines to fall across the roadway, police say.

The road was partially closed while crews addressed the fallen telephone lines, according to police.

Bell was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

The Chevrolet Silverado was towed from the scene.

Bell was cited with a traffic violation.

PSP Clarion were assisted at the scene by Farmington Volunteer Fire Department and Shippenville Volunteer Fire Department.
