New Bethlehem Man Escapes Injury in Three Vehicle Crash on Route 257

CRANBERRY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — Franklin-based State Police say a three-vehicle accident occurred around 8:47 a.m. on March 3, on State Route 257, 295 feet north of Fairfield Drive, in Cranberry Township, Venango County.

According to police, Vincent E. Ream, 49, of New Bethlehem, was traveling south on SR 257 in a 2011 Kia Rio and was approaching multiple vehicles that were stopped at a steady red traffic signal.

Ream’s vehicle struck the rear end of a 2008 Jeep Patriot driven by Sarah E. Lutz, 22, of Seneca, causing it to move forward and impact the rear of a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder driven by Wendy Y. Flaherty, 47, of Oil City.

Ream and Lutz were not injured in the collision.

Flaherty suffered minor injuries.

All drivers were using seat belts.

Ream’s vehicle sustained heavy disabling damage to the front end.

Lutz’s vehicle sustained functional damage to both front and the rear of her vehicle.

Flaherty’s vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear end of her vehicle.

Ream was charged with a traffic violation.

Assisting the state police at the scene were Mark’s Towing, Venango Towing, and Seneca Volunteer Fire Department.
