Fred D. Blauser

Fred D. Blauser, of State Route 257, Seneca, Pa., formerly of Olean, N.Y., passed away Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015), at the Bradford Manor after a brief illness.

Born Jan. 9, 1940, in Olean, he was a son of the late Wade and Rena Vecellio Blauser. He was married to Phyllis Ann Taylor, who passed away in May of 2010.

He resided in the Chicago area for many years, moving to Seneca in 2005.

He graduated from Olean High School in 1957 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1960. He attended several colleges, including Syracuse University and the University of Kentucky, and earned a doctorate in engineering.

He was a real estate agent and owned and operated Sunshine Realty in Gurnee, Ill., until his retirement.

Survivors include nine nieces and nephews, Lori (Joan Thomas) Palumbo of Belfast, N.Y., Jennie (Philip) Farr of Olean, Terri (Steve) Wilber of Olean, Denise Blauser of Buffalo, N.Y., Donna Blauser of Buffalo, Michael Palumbo of Olean, John (Nancy) Palumbo of Olean, Tony Palumbo of Olean and David (Ann) Blauser of Allegany, N.Y.

He was predeceased by his parents; wife; a sister, L. Joan Palumbo; a brother, Neil Blauser; and a sister-in-law, Paulette Blauser.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (Feb. 11, 2015) in the Southside Union Chapel, 647 S. Union St., Olean. Pastor Al Batt will officiate.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice .

Arrangements are under the direction of the Guenther Funeral Home Inc., Olean.
