Member_144338[1]Randal S. Lockhart, 52, of Rockland, died Monday evening, March 9, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a sudden illness.

He was born in Oil City on February 9, 1963 to Marlene (Bechtel) Lockhart of Oil City and the late William L. Lockhart.

He was a graduate of Oil City High School.

Randy was a member of the Oil City Moose Lodge. He was of the protestant faith.

Randy enjoyed bowling, golfing, horse-races, and throwing horseshoes. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting. The Lockhart family owned a racing team and he attended many events in the local auto racing circuit.

After retiring from United Refining in Warren, he became self-employed and owned and operated Lockhart’s Commercial Cleaning of Oil City; and his family plans to continue that legacy.

Surviving, in addition to his mother, Marlene, are three children: Misty M. Lockhart of Oil City, Joseph S. Lockhart and his wife Cara of Oil City, and Abigail R. Lockhart of Florida; two grandchildren, Jaylyn Gray and Logen Lockhart; and two brothers, Jay Lockhart of Seneca and Jeffery Lockhart and his wife Trisha of Oil City. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In addition to his father, William, he was preceded in death by a brother, William L. Lockhart, Jr.

Friends will be received Thursday (March 12) from 2 — 4 and 6 — 9 p.m. and on Friday (March 13) from 11 a.m. — 1 p.m. in the Hile-Best Funeral Home, Inc., 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, Cranberry Township. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Byron Myers, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating.
