James C. Lovett

James C. Lovett, 89, of Eakin Road, Harrisville, passed away on March 12,2015 at Grove City Medical Center.

Born July 3, 1925, in Pittsburg, he was the son of Wilbert and Verde Lovett. Jim was married to Elaine Heim on October 17, 1947 who he was married to for 61 years before she preceded him in death in 2008.

Jim served in the Army in Rhineland, Adrennes and Central Europe during World War II and earned a Bronze Star Medal. Jim enjoyed woodworking, building, riding in his buggy, watching bluebirds and other wildlife and was a Pirates and Steelers fan. He was and elder at the Amity Presbyterian Church and a member of the VFW — Eagles Club. Jim worked at Cooper Industries where he retired from.

Jim is survived by three children: James C. (Bertiva) Lovett Jr., Sandra L. Bice, and Jeffrey B. (Jennie) Lovett all of Harrisville, ten grandchildren James “Chad” Lovett III , Brian Lovett, John (Jennifer) Lovett Jr., Laura Lovett, Shelly Bell, Chasity Zahner, Brett Lovett, Frank Leta Jr., Christopher (Chanel) Lovett and Garrett Lovett and eight great grandchildren: Alexis Lovett, Caden Lovett, Alex Lovett, Tyler Lovett, Andrew Lovett, Michelle Bell, Melanie Bell and Owen Weaver.

Also surviving are two sisters Ruth (Sherwell) Berringer and Pearl (Earl) Smith and two daughters in law Mary Lovett and Pam Lovett and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife and parents Jim was preceded in death by two sons John D. Lovett Sr. and Joseph E. Lovett, a brother Wilbert Lovett, a sister Fannie Hendershot and his son in law Bob Bice.

Family will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton Street, Clintonville Pa on Sunday March 15, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 and from 10-11 am Monday, March 16, 2015. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Monday in the funeral home with pastors Dave Lingle and Willard Morse, co officiating. Internment will be at the Mt. Irwin Cemetery, Venango County. Full military honors will be performed by the Franklin V.E.T.s. In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions be sent to Amity Church, 4605 Scrubgrass Road, Grove City PA 16127.
