Member_144499[1]Richard Melvin Foringer, age 76, of New Bethlehem, passed away early Saturday morning, March 14, 2015 at the Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh following a short illness.

Born January 8, 1939 in Porter Township, Clarion County, he was a son of the late Henry and Alice Miller Foringer.

He married the former Verna Lee Milliron in the Leatherwood Church on September 1, 1962 and the couple recently celebrated 52 years of marriage.
Richard worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for various companies.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and granddogs and watching NASCAR and studio wrestling.

Richard is survived by his wife, Verna and three children: Gregory A. Foringer and his wife, Heather; Michael “Todd” Foringer and his companion, Katie Anderson and Brenda Snyder and her husband, Jeff, all of New Bethlehem; a daughter-in-law, Kari Johnston of Valley City, Ohio; Grandchildren: Cassandra “Casey” Foringer and her companion, Armando Lopez, of Brookville; Lyndsey Foringer and Ian Foringer, also of Brookville; Michael Foringer, Justin Foringer, Brooke Snyder and McKenzi Snyder all of New Bethlehem; two step grandchildren: Dylan Hornberger of Oak Ridge and Charissa Hornberger and her companion, Brendon Shaffer, of Distant.

He is also survived by a brother, Ronald Foringer and his wife, Janet, of New Bethlehem; two sisters-in-law: Carol Foringer of Ridgeway and Yvone Foringer of Sligo and a step great grandchild, Connor Shaffer of Distant.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a son, Richard M. Foringer, Jr., on September 23, 1991 and two brothers, Don Foringer of New Bethlehem and Gary “Butch” Foringer of Sligo.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at the Rupert Funeral Home and Cremation Service Chapel, 233 Penn Street, New Bethlehem.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with the Reverend Jodie Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in the McCreas Furnace Cemetery in Armstrong County.
