Marian L. Bickel, 89, of Coal Hill passed away Thursday evening, March 12, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Born Nov. 19, 1925 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Ralph & Martha Keith Powers.

Marian attended Oil City schools.

She was married on March 18, 1946 to Jim Bickel and he preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 2011.

Marian was a homemaker.

She was a lifetime member of the Pinegrove Firehall, assisting with haunted hayrides that were held at her residence.

She enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.

Marian was a member of the Living Word Church in Oil City.

Mrs. Bickel is survived by three children — Ronald (Judy) Bickel of Cranberry; Gerald Bickel, who had resided with her; and Patricia Wheeler & her husband Don of Oil City.

She is also survived by six grandchildren — Robert Bickel and his wife Ina; John Bickel and his wife Chanitnai; Jodi Smerkar & her husband Scott; Shelia Bickel; Leann Christensen & her husband Carl; and Jill Whitling.

She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Marian is also survived by two sisters, Avalon Niles and Martha Jane Huck, and one brother, Robert Powers.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters — Nina Firster, Elva Wilson, Fern Hoy, and Ruth Huck, as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to the Living Word Church.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday March 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the Living Word Church, Route 157, Oil City, PA.
