Anna Marie Acklin, 84, of 16 Kramer Ave. Oil City, PA. , died at 10:48 P.M. Wednesday March 18, 2015 at the home of her daughter.
Born June 18, 1930 in Oil City, PA., she was the daughter of the late Vincent Gregory Sr. & Celia Whitling Gregory.
Anna Marie graduated from Oil City High School.
She received her associates degree from Venango Campus in 1988.
On June 3, 1948 she married Sherwood D. Acklin in Help of Christians Church and he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 1986.
Mrs. Acklin had worked for Welker Maxwell, Easter Seals, the Literacy Council, and for H& R. Block.
She was a lifelong member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church and the former rosary society of the church. Anna Marie had served on parish council.
She was a member of the YMCA Silver splashers and loved taking her grandkids to the Oil City swimming pool.
Anna Marie enjoyed cooking and liked to take walks with her dog on the bike trail.
She is survived by four children and their spouses; Barbara & Ray Feroz of Seneca, Bill & Paula Acklin of Elkton, MD, Michael Acklin of Oil City, Mary Doyle & her fiance Dale Sears of Bloomington, IL, a daughter-in-law Darlene Acklin of Franklin.
Ten Grandchildren; Christopher Feroz & his wife Rie of San Francisco, CA, Matthew Feroz & his wife Ericka of Oil City, Elizabeth Marano & her husband Andrew of Flagstaff, AZ, Kathleen Casamento & her husband Matt of Pittsburgh, PA., William Acklin of Elkton, MD, Leanne Acklin and her fiance Mike Bush of Erie, Carrie Acklin and friend Mike Florig of Carterville, IL, Amy Acklin of Oil City, Jennifer & Brian Smith of Franklin, Timothy McMahon of Oil City. Twelve Great Grandchildren; Luna, Anna, Lexi, Alaiya, Farah, Ella, Drew, Gloria, Emma, Maya, Zak and Owen. One brother; Vincent Gregory & his wife Marjorie of Philadelphia, and by many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters; Beth Wilson & Joan Acklin, three sisters; Barbara Hovis, Mary Dabrowski and Agnes Findlay, and four brothers; John, James, Joseph and George Gregory.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 7-9 P.M. Friday in the Reinsel Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Saturday in Our Lady Help of Christians Church with Fr. Shane Mathew, Pastor, Presiding.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Garden.
