357768dcf9389e54Lee S. Neely Jr., 85, of Shippenville, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, following an extended illness.

Born April 11, 1929, in Beaver Township, he was the son of Lee and Lila Curtis Neely. On March 16, 1951, Lee married Fay Frederick who preceded him in death in 2012.

Lee served in the Army where he was stationed in Korea during the Korean Conflict, after returning he worked for Knox Glass as a moldmaker. He was a member of the American Legion Post 720 in Knox, the PA Nut Growers Assoc. and the Canby Masonic Lodge 520 in St. Petersburg. Lee enjoyed hunting and grafting his trees.

Lee is survived by a son, Keith and his wife Cindy Neely; a daughter, Diane and her husband Dave Kurtzhals; and six grandchildren, Denim Kurtzhals and his wife Maureen, Charla and her husband Aaron Lee, Daylin and her husband Duane Beach, Dolin Kurtzhals, Townsend Neely and his wife Mary Margaret, and Darina and her husband Rem Stover. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren: Seattle and Cyprus Beach, Ella Lily and Ezra Denim Kurtzhals, Leilani Pineiro, Mathew and Sofia Lee, Angel Middlebrooke and Silas Neely.

Along with his parents Lee was preceded in death by a daughter, Sabra Ann Neely, three brothers EJ Neely, Curt Neely and Glenn Neely and a sister Leila Weaver.

Private funeral services will be held in the McEntire-Weaver Funeral Home Inc., 504 East Penn St., Knox, at the convenience of the family. Interment will follow at the Knox Union Cemetery. Full military honors will be performed by the Knox American Legion Post 720. In lieu flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Salvation Army, or the Knox Public Library, P.O. Box 510, Knox, 16232.
