Arthur “Pud” James Thompson

1549790_profile_pic[1]Arthur “Pud” James Thompson, age 58, of Reidsburg Road, Clarion, died on March 27, 2015, at Clarion Hospital ICU.

Born on September 12, 1956 in Clarion, PA, he was the son of Samuel Edward Thompson and Mary Kathryn Neederman Thompson.

He served in the Army from 1975 to 1978 at Fort Polk, LA.

After living together for 20 years he married his solemate, best friend, and companion, Lynette Stepulla on December 29, 2005, and she survives.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Original Fuels in Punxsutawney.

Pud enjoyed football, NASCAR, camping, 4-wheeling and most of all being a jokester.

In addition to his wife, Lynette, he is survived by three nieces and nephews, Jason Thompson, Butler, Heather Powell, Strattanville, and Kate McGill, Meadville; six great nieces and nephews, Malia Hollenbaugh, KayLea Powell, Gabriel Powell, Leviticus Powell, Remington Powell, Kinsly Thompson; one brother, Bruce and his wife, Allison, of Corsica; one step sister, Crystal Dechant and her husband, Andy, and their children, of Cranberry Township and his best friend Betty “Duffy” Buzard of Clarion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Samuel Edward Thompson II and one niece, Pamela Thompson.

Visitation will he held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 at Goble Funeral Home & Crematory, 330 Wood Street, Clarion, PA.

Funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Full military honors will be accorded by members of Clarion American Legion Post 66 immediately prior to the funeral service. Interments will be at Cedarview Memorial Park, Strattanville, PA.

The family requests donations be made to the Clarion Forest Hospice Association, 271 Perkins Road, Clarion, PA or to the Clarion Cancer Society, Clarion, PA.
