TIONESTA, Pa. — The North Clarion Elementary School’s Pre-K Counts classrooms recently received an evaluation from the state. On March 18, an ECCERS (Early Childhood Environmental Rating Scale) assessment was conducted.

Although the specific date was unannounced, teachers Erin Frederick and Maggie Jordan, and Teacher aides, Terri Cyphert and Kathy Weaver were given a four week window in which the state could arrive.

The classrooms must meet the Pre-K Counts program requirements of receiving an overall classroom score of 5.50. Classrooms were reviewed in each of the five subscales: Space and Furnishings, Language-Reasoning, Activities, Interaction, and Program Structure.

The classrooms were pleased to receive an excellent overall classroom score exceeding the state requirements. Both teachers and administration look forward to setting even higher goals to continue to improve the program and provide the best possible education to their students.

The North Clarion Pre-K is now accepting applications for the 2015-2016 school year.

Applications can be obtained by calling the school at 814-744-8541 for more information.
