CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – In a surprise move, Clarion County Commissioners have decided to plug the old jail.

As commissioners are contemplating plugging an abandoned well on the property, they also decided to commission EADS Architects about plugging the old jail as well.

“Let’s face it, it’s going to cost a bundle to bring the jail into compliance with modern office standards and there’s really not much you can do with it,” Commissioner Butch Campbell did not say.

“In order to provide 911 services adequate office space, we are also commissioning EADS to research the possibility of refurbishing the Clarion University grilled cheese truck into new mobile offices for 911. The vehicle could then sit at Trinity Point in order to have greater connectivity with the Trinity Point Tower.”

Commissioners also noted that filling up the old jail with concrete would also allow the preservation of the best architecture of the old jail, the exterior.
