KINGSLEY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) — The PA State Police Fire Marshal and the Tionesta Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that occurred yesterday damaging a seasonal cabin at 265 Wilson Circle Road, in Kingsley Township, Forest County.

The fire happened around 1:07 p.m.

The 27-year-old Summerville victim arrived at the camp and turned on the electricity and a dehumidifier. He then departed the location, according to police.

Police say the cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature and was caused by a defect in the service drop prior to the electric meter.

Damage is estimated at $30,000.00.

According to Venango County 911, fire departments from Tionesta and West Hickory were on the scene.

Pleasantville Fire Department was on standby.
