Clarion Woman Charged with Delivering Heroin to McKean County

KANE, Pa. (EYT) – A Clarion woman is facing felony charges after allegedly conspiring to deliver heroin in McKean County.

According to court records reviewed by the Olean Times Herald, Savannah M. Barr, 27, of 246 Main St., Apt. 3½, Clarion, was found to be in possession of 23 packages of heroin after three were sold to a McKean County Drug Task Force confidential informant last Thursday.

Authorities say she conspired with two male suspects in the delivery; however, charges have not been filed against either man as of Monday evening.

According the documents, the confidential informant contacted one of the male suspects by telephone and learned that he was waiting for heroin to be delivered from Clarion. The pair arranged for a delivery to take place in a parking lot in Smethport.

Later that evening, a blue van registered to Barr arrived at the parking lot. A male suspect got out of the vehicle and allegedly sold three packs of heroin to the confidential informant.

Court documents indicate Barr was pulled over by Smethport Borough Police for a broken tail light later that evening. After Barr gave written consent to a search, police found 23 packs of heroin in a Wendy’s fast food bag. They also found syringes and a spoon, according to court records.

Online court documents reviewed by exploreClarion.com show that Barr was arraigned Friday before District Judge David Engman on the following charges:

– Possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, Felony
– Possession of a controlled substance, Misdemeanor
– Possession of drug paraphernalia, Misdemeanor

Barr remains housed in the McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000.00 bail.

She faces a preliminary hearing in McKean County Central Court on Thursday.
