SHAFFERmarcellarMarcella R. Shaffer, 89, a resident of 122 Bradleytown Road, Cooperstown died peacefully at 8:30 PM Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Sugarcreek Station; following a period of declining health.

She was born October 6, 1925 in Pittsburgh, a beloved daughter of the late: August and Elizabeth Kobielski Raup.

During her working career, Marcella had worked as a caregiver in the home healthcare field.

Marcella enjoyed the outdoors, especially bird watching; and ice skating and fishing in her earlier years. She was happiest as a homemaker, cooking for her family and friends and she especially cherished the fun times she was able to spend with them. She was a kind-hearted and loving woman whose presence will be missed by all those who loved her.

She was married September 26, 1944 in Brookville to Thomas Dean Shaffer. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1970.

She is survived by her son: Thomas Dean Shaffer, Jr. and his wife Linda and their children: Jason Shaffer and Britt Shaffer Guilbert. Also surviving are her grandsons: Daniel F. Reeher and his wife Joyce and Jody A. Reeher and his wife Tammi; all of Cooperstown.

Also surviving are her great grandchildren: Shawna Reeher and her fiancé Sam, Erin McCool and her husband Glenn, Jr. and Jessica Reeher and her fiancé James; and her great-great grandchildren: Rilee, Daniel, Lucas and Noah.

Also surviving are her two sisters: Elizabeth Sherman of Akron, OH and Dolores Meals and her husband Ken of Stoneboro; and a “special” niece: Jennifer Baker and her husband Doug of Oil City; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Carol Reeher and by six brothers and three sisters.

Family and friends may call Wednesday 2-3 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3 PM in the funeral home with Reverend Randy Kightlinger, V.N.A. of Venango County Hospice Chaplain officiating.

Interment will follow in Cooperstown Cemetery.
