jones-photoMrs. Imogene G. Jones, 86, formerly of 4 Pershing Way, died Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 6:58 PM at the Titusville Golden Living Center.

Imogene was born on March 19, 1929 in the coal mining community of Desire, PA to the late James “Fred” and Elizabeth Leiberton Colwell, where her father was a miner. The family moved to Titusville when she was young. She graduated from Colestock High School in 1946. Imogene married Rynd “Bud” Jones on February 7, 1947 in Titusville. Bud preceded her in death on September 21, 2009.

She was a homemaker for much of her life but was employed for fifteen years as a nurse’s aide at what would become the Golden Living Center and for many years as a school bus aide for Titusville area students with special needs.

Imogene loved camping with Bud and her grandchildren in their travel trailer, snowmobiling, bowling, playing pinochle with the same card club for fifty two years and caring for her many pets. She was very active with the Titusville Lioness Club for many years.

Imogene is survived by a son, Randy Jones and wife Carol of Conneaut, OH; two grandchildren, Emily Jones of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Ian Jones of Chicago; a niece Kathy Bennett and husband Bill of Townville; a nephew Jim Colwell and wife Nancy of Titusville; a sister in law Pearl Colwell of Florida. She was loved and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by a brother William Colwell and an infant brother Darrell Colwell.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. on Saturday from 10 AM to Noon at which time a service will be conducted with Dr. Terry Purvis-Smith, interim pastor at Titusville First Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
