Constance “Connie” June Brown Latchaw

Mom 75th Birthday 054 (2)A love affair of nearly 62 years came to an end on Sunday, April 12, 2015 with the death of Constance “Connie” June Brown Latchaw of Franklin.

Connie was born June 12, 1935 to the late: Frank Brown and Gertrude White Brown.

Connie married Raymond Paul “Buzz” Latchaw on July 7, 1953.

The couple had an exciting lifetime together; including giving birth to twins in the lobby of the former Franklin Hospital, in addition to a Leap Year boy and an April Fools girl.

Connie had worked at Joy Manufacturing Company in Franklin for a time, but her primary hobby was following and watching her husband build and remodel homes throughout the Franklin/Rocky Grove area.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her children: Bobbie Jean Barker and her husband Kenneth of Franklin, Betty Rae Maxon and her husband Clayton of Franklin, Tod Alan Latchaw and his wife Paula of Franklin, Michael Wayne Latchaw and his wife LuCinda of Jackson Center, Jeffrey Paul Latchaw and his wife Pamela of King’s Mountain, NC and Janice Marie Garich and her husband Stephen also of Franklin; in addition to 21 grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and many step great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters: Alice Proper and Betty Judy, her brother-in-law: Robert Whitten, her half brother-in-law: Walter Latshaw and his wife Karen, three half sisters-in-law: Debra Hazlett, Mary Catherine Rhodes and her husband Duane and Suzanne Rossman and her husband Roger; in addition to many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Donald Brown, two sons-in-law: William Geer and Joseph Conaway, by a grandson: Green Beret, U.S. Special Forces Medic Kenneth Lehman, by two great-grandchildren and by her sister-in-law: Carol Jean Whitten.

Friends may call Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the Timothy E. Hartle Funeral Home, 1328 Elk Street, Franklin.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 AM in the funeral home with Reverend Lonnie Wolford, pastor of The Fox Street Church of God officiating.

Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery.
