Harold (Bud) Wise Jr.,

Harold (Bud) Wise Jr., 82, of Cochranton died Monday, April 13, 2015 at his residence after a period of declining health.

Born, November 6, 1932 in North Liberty, he was the son of Harold and Helen Graham Wise, Sr.

He married Marjorie R. Ritchey on August 27, 1955 and she survives.

Bud was a 1950 graduate of Grove City High School and 1955 graduate of Grove City College. After graduation he served with the US Air Force from 1955 to 1960.

Returning from the military he began his working career with General Electric in Erie, then worked for Atlantic Refining for 8 years. From there he worked for the H. L. Moore Company in Cochranton, GTI in Hadley, and finally with Drafto Inc. in Cochranton. He retired in 1994.

He was a member of the Cochranton Missionary and Alliance Church. He enjoyed all types of sports, as a participant, coach, and spectator, and enjoyed having the opportunity to watch his children and grandchildren compete.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 59 years include his children, Cathy McCurdy and her husband Blair (Bud) of Cochranton , Joy Ward of Cochranton, and Brad Wise and his finance’ Amy Garris of Saegertown. Grandchildren, David McCurdy of Pittsburgh, Amanda M. McCreadie and her husband Justin of Grove City, Blair H. McCurdy of Cochranton, Paige Bowser and her husband Robert of Stoneboro, Emily Ward of Edinboro, Bryce Ward of Cochranton, Kyle and Haley Wise both of Saegertown and step-grandchildren, Mackensie and Ryan Garris of Saegertown. Seven great grandchildren, Wesley and Cameron McCurdy, Tanner, Justin Jr., Hayden and Lucas McCreadie and Landry Bowser. Three sisters, Linda Webster and her husband Gary of Grove City, Vicki Hartman and her husband Raymond of Chesterland, Ohio, Kim Barnes and her husband Thomas of Grove City, three brothers, Gerald Wise and his wife Bonnie of Grove City, Robert Wise and his wife Bonnie of Grove City, Thomas Wise and his wife Janice of Mercer, and brother-in-law Thomas F. Ritchey III and his wife Agnes of Meadville, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

The family will be forever indebted to his caretakers, Cathy Everett, Kim Munden, Brenda Irwin, Peggy Rodgers, and Cindy Morey. AseraCare Hospice allowed for Bud to be cared for at home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Elizabeth Castellano, and sister-in-law Rebecca Pizor.

Friends will be received at the Dickson Family Funeral Home in Cochranton on Friday from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday from 1pm to 3pm with the funeral service to follow with the Rev. John McGarvey of the Cochranton Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. Military Honors with be conducted by the Cochranton American Legion.
