Byers PhotoMae A. Byers, a resident of the Golden Living Center in Clarion, passed away on April 12, 2015 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

She was 88 years of age.

Born on June 7, 1926, in Clarion, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Almeda (McCall) Reott. She attended and graduated from high school in Knox. Mae married Clarence Richard Byers and he has preceded her in death. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was active in the United Methodist Church, serving on the Missionary Committee, the Nominating Committee, as a Communion Stewardess, a member of the United Methodist Women, and various other jobs for the church.

Mae is survived by her children; Bonda Reitz and her husband Mike of Strattanville, Richard Byers and his wife Karen of Titusville, and Clarence Byers of Warren, her 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Alberta Slaugenhaupt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three children; Sharon Rose, Donna K, and Linda Lee, one great-grandchild, Michael Byers, and two brothers; Charles and George Reott.

Arrangements are under the care of the Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street in Clarion where visitation will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 2-7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery.
