Ruth M. Lander, 82, of Lucinda, died early Sunday morning, April 12, 2015 at her home, after a short illness.

Born November 13, 1932 in Lucinda, she was the daughter of the late Jerome J., Sr. and Irene P. Schmader Judy. She was married to William J. Lander on August 4, 1951 and he preceded her in death on June 14, 1987
Ruth was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lucinda and the Rosary Society of the church. She enjoyed quilting and bingo.

She is survived by five sons and one daughter: William J. Lander and his wife, Edith; Kenneth J. Lander and his wife, Brenda; Eugene M. Lander and his wife, Margaret; Timothy J. Lander and his wife, Joan, all of Lucinda; Kevin L. Lander and his wife, Maureen of Pittsburgh and Tamela A. Lander, who lived at home.

In addition, Mrs. Lander is survived by two brothers: Richard A. Judy and his wife, Virginia and Jerome J. Judy, Jr. and his wife, Donna, all of Lucinda. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Scott, Michael, Heather, Kyle, Colin, Kristen, Phillip and Zachary and 4 great grandchildren: Tyler, Bailey, Noah and Shawn and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Ochs; a brother, Ralph Judy and a grandson, Cory.

Friends and family may call on Tuesday, April 14 from 2 — 4 & 6 — 8 and the Borland Funeral Home, Inc. in Leeper. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lucinda with Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, as celebrant and with Ruth’s son, Deacon Kevin Lander assisting.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family suggests memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph School in Lucinda or the Window Fund at the Church.
