Blanche M. Beach, 102, formerly of Colbert Ave, Oil City, died at 3:27 pm, Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at the Golden Living Center-Oil City.

Born February 7, 1913 in Kaneville, she was a daughter of the late John and Susan Thompson.

Mrs. Beach had worked at Bower’s and the Arlington Hotel, and did laundry for local nurses who worked at the Oil City Hospital.

She was a foster mother to many children.

Mrs. Beach was the oldest member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Siverly. She had been very active in church activities.

She also was active at the Golden Living Center in the peer group, Red Hats, resident council, bingo and had been the prom queen.

Mrs. Beach enjoyed picking berries, her flower garden, breeding Dachshunds and raising canaries

On September 26, 1930 she married Frank William Beach, who preceded her in death on November 22, 2004.

Surviving are 4 children, Patty Masters of Franklin, and Barbara Irwin and husband Charles of Oil City, Larry Beach and wife Deana of Oil City, and Kelly Heffern and husband Steve of Cooperstown; 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and her dog, Carmen

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Frank William Beach, Jacqueline Beach and Duane Reisinger; a son-in-law, Vernon Masters; two brothers, Dave Thompson and Benny Thompson; and four sisters, Edna Crawford, Millie Gobbi, Edith Gordon and Annie Irwin.

Friends may call at the Morrison Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.

Funeral services will be conducted in Bethel United Methodist Church at 11 am Friday with the Rev, Don Rudge and the Rev, Erenie Pons, officiating.

Interment will be in Rockland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to Bethel United Methodist Church of Oil City, the Venango County Humane Society or Golden Living Center of Oil City.
