Charles R. “Rick” Britt

rick-britt-photoMr. Charles R. “Rick” Britt, 59, of Grandview Rd., Oil City passed away early Monday morning at UPMC Northwest shortly after his arrival.

Mr. Britt was born on September 16, 1955, in Oil City to the late Charles E. and Betty Jane Kimes Britt. He married Ruby Rodgers on July 21, 1979, at Burgess Park on the island.

He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1974. He also attended MTA truck driving school in Elizabethtown.

Rick was formerly employed by the Oil City Derrick as a shift supervisor for the circulation dept., with AWP Area Wide Protective Services as a flagger and worked at several local restaurants as a cook.

He was a collector of swords and knives, loved taking care of his dogs Toby & Ember, and especially spending time with all his nieces and nephews.

Rick is survived by his wife Ruby Britt of Oil City; 2 sisters, Patricia Kline of Oil City, Cindy Bryan and her husband Rick of Titusville; mother-in-law, Marlene Rodgers of Titusville; 7 brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike Rodgers, Linda Rodgers and husband Bill, Beth Beers and husband Stub all of Titusville, John Rodgers and wife Rose of Hydetown, Rita Jolly and husband Eugene of Holley, NY, Tonia McGarvie and husband Greg, Donnie Rodgers of Centerville; special friend, Ron Griffin and family of Oil City; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Rita Jolly was not only a sister-in-law but best buddies.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and father-in-law, Wayne Rodgers.

No calling hours will be observed.

A memorial service will be conducted for family and friends this Saturday April 18th at 2:00 PM from the Titusville Area Senior Center 714 E. Main St., Titusville, PA 16354.
