Donald M. “Don” Hoover

Donald-Hoover-1429191788Donald M. “Don” Hoover, 61 of Polk, passed away at 6:30 AM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born June 19, 1953, he was a son of the late Kenneth “Mike” and Marilyn Felmlee Hoover.

He attended Franklin Schools.

Don proudly served his country in the Navy Reserves and the Seabees.

He worked for 22 years at Titusville Fabricators. Don also worked as a mechanic at Olson’s Garage and Towing Service.

He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, camping and boating.

Family was everything to Don, and he always looked forward to Sunday family gathering and welcoming new members into the family.

He enjoyed many vacations with his family to Florida and Disney World.

On May 9, 1975 he married the former Cheryl Crawford in Franklin and she survives.

Also surviving are three children; Donald Hoover Jr. of Franklin, Beth Marshall of Oil City, and Jeffrey Hoover of Franklin; four sisters, Debra Poston, Dolly Hoover and her companion Ray George, Deidre McGinnis and her companion Keith Boyd, Donna Shook and her husband Keith, and Dallas Hoover all of Franklin; two brothers-in-law, Earl “Skip” Crawford III and his wife Sandy of Sandy Lake, James A. Crawford and his wife Irene of Pinellas Park, FL; and a sister-in-law Deb Green of Franklin.

Additionally surviving are seven grandchildren, Corissa Marshall and Tyler Hudak of Oil City, Isaiah Hoover and Shyann Hoover of Franklin, Shaleiann Hoover of Franklin and Makiah Culver and Brooklyn Culver who resided with Don & Cheryl over the last 6 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Hoover; a brother, David Hoover; and a brother-in-law, John Crawford.

Family and friends welcome Friday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Additional visitation will be held from 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM. Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at Noon Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randy Kightlinger, VNA Chaplain officiating.

Interment will follow at Old Sandy Cemetery.
