Lyle M. Simons

Lyle M. Simons, 86, of Millville, DE passed away at home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

Lyle was born March 24, 1929 in Oil City, PA to the late Clyde and Minnie Simons. He was a member of the Millville United Methodist Church and was a member of Doric Lodge #30, Ocean View, DE. He was a proud veteran who served in the US Army during the Korean war and retired from the Government Printing Office where he excelled as a proofreader.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jean Simons and their youngest son, Mark Simons of Frankford; brothers Clyde Simons, Jr., Melvin Simons, Richard Simons and Charles Simmons. He is survived by three children, Richard Simons of Conyers, GA, Steven Simons of Oak Ridge, NJ, Cheri Simons of Stevensville, MD, daughter-in-law Ann Simons of Frankford, DE, sisters Ardelle Lyons of Grapevine, TX, his twin sister Lois Burneisen, Lorraine Karns and brothers Wade Simons of Oil City, PA and Ronnie Simons of Millersville, MD and sister-in-law Marion Simons of Red Hill, Pa. He is also survived by his 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren whom he adored and loved.

Services will be held Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Millville United Methodist Church at 36405 Club House Rd., Millville, DE 19967.
