SCRUBGRASS TWP., Pa. (EYT) – A 14-year-old boy was injured in a UTV accident Sunday afternoon in Scrubgrass Township, Venango County.

Franklin-based State Police say the accident happened around 12:23 p.m. when a 14-year-old New Kensington boy lost control of his Polaris Ranger side-by-side while traveling south on Riviera Road.

Police say the side-by-side subsequently left the roadway and struck a tree.

The operator was flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for treatment of moderate injuries.

He was not wearing a seat belt or helmet, according to police.

Emlenton VFD and Emlenton Ambulance assisted at the scene.
