Crago Hot on Senior Day as Clarion U. Softball Splits with Slippery Rock

CLARION, Pa. — On senior day, senior Shawnna Crago recorded her first win of the season with a complete-game in game one, as the Clarion University softball team split a PSAC West doubleheader with Slippery Rock on Saturday.

Crago was able to battle her way out of a few jams as she went 7.0 innings while allowing four hits and one earned run while recording three strikeouts

Crago helped her own cause at the plate with a triple down the right field line.

Paige Baker brought home the game-winning runs in the second inning when she hit a line drive single into right field.

Clarion fell behind early in game two with Slippery Rock plating five runs in the second inning off of Baker.

Chelsea Zola came in for relief of Baker. Zola pitched five innings and gave up five runs on seven hits.

Crago continued her hot day at the plate, hitting her first career home run.

Megan Anderson contributed to the Golden Eagles offense with two hits of her own.

Clarion will play its final game of the season on Monday when it hosts the California (Pa.) Vulcans at Memorial Stadium.
