Ralph W. Seely Jr.

10847662_975832985801563_4441617832342573260_oRalph W. Seely Jr., age 74, of Tionesta, PA, died on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Erie, PA. He was born November 19, 1940 in Monessen, PA, son of the late Ralph W. and Dorothy (DeMoss) Seely Sr.

On August 3, 1963 at St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Pittsburgh, PA (Northside) he married Patricia R. (Jardine) Seely, who survives.

The day after graduating from High School, he enlisted with the US Navy and served his country from 6/1/58 – 9/1/61 being honorably discharged, and was a member of the Clarion American Legion in Clarion, PA. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers after 37 years where he worked as an Equipment/Mechanic Supervisor and Lockmaster/Diver. He was a mentor to his employees.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Tionesta where he served as a Church Council Member and Call Committee Greeter. He was an avid wood worker, carpenter, and a great servant to the community. He was a friend to all who knew him. He donated much of his time to the development of others.

He was an enthusiastic outdoorsmen, gardener, traveler, mechanic and general jack of all trades. Ralph had a special love for hunting his Brittany dogs. He donated his time stocking Pheasants for the Kellettville Sportsman’s club and was a member of the Fryburg Sportsman’s Club.

Ralph dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Surviving in addition to his wife of 51 years Patricia, are two sons, Ralph W. Seely III and his wife Misa of Seattle, Washington. Kevin J. Seely and his wife Chelsea of Delray Beach, Florida. A daughter, Jodi Beichner and her husband Clayton of Leeper, PA. His beloved four grandchildren, Matthew Seely, a student at Florida State University in Tallahassee, and Christopher, Cooper and Carter Seely (“pap pap’s one eyed-jack poker player”), all of Delray Beach.

Also surviving are a brother, James Seely and his wife Carolyn of Malkoff, Texas. Two sisters, Beatrice Johnson and her husband William of Hawkins, Texas; Dorothy Campbell of Pittsburgh. Several nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind his true and faithful companions, Sadie, Myers, Zack, Wyatt, Keiko and Yoko.

There will be no public visitation. All services held will be private. Pastor Samuel Mabugu of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Tionesta. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home of Tionesta.
