Member_146213Joseph R. “Joe” Conti, 56, of Emlenton-Clintonville Rd., Emlenton, went to be with the Lord Sunday morning, May 3, 2015 at his residence.

Joseph was born in Grove City on October 11, 1958. He was the son of Marion Conti Butler and the late Richard S. Conti.

He was a 1977 graduate of Moniteau High School.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church in Emlenton. He enjoyed hunting, working outside around his home, riding his four wheeler, the company of his cat, Spike, and family holidays, especially Christmas. Joe was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.

He had been employed by Franklin Regional Medical Center as a security officer.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. “Kathy” McDowell Conti, whom he married in Boyers on may 18, 1985. Also surviving is his mother and stepfather, Marion and William Butler of Greenville; a daughter, Crystal L. Conti and her friend, Josh Fair, of Emlenton; a sister, Cindy Conti of Sanford, NC; a sister-in-law, Eileen Gordon and her husband, Howard, of Emlenton; a brother-in-law, William P. McDowell and his wife, Debbie, of Coal City; two nephews, Danny Claypoole and his wife, Patti, of Grove City and Jimmy Claypoole and his wife, Jamie, of Butler; a niece, Jennifer Harrington and her husband, Thomas, of State College; a great niece, Emily Harrington of State College, as well as a number of cousins and friends.

Friends will be received at the Hile Funeral Home Inc., 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Wednesday.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday from the funeral home with the Rev. William Barron, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, Emlenton, officiating.

Interment will be in St. Michael Cemetery.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Hile Funeral Home, PO Box 476, Emlenton, to help defray funeral expenses.
