Clarion University’s Edgar 60th After Day 2 at Regionals

NASHPORT, Ohio — Clarion sophomore golfer Sean Edgar (Bethel Park) is tied for 60th in medal play after day two of the NCAA Division II Super Regional hosted at the Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio on Tuesday.

A 54-hole, three-day tournament, played on the par 72, 7,141 yard layout, Edgar carded a second round 82 to go with his first round 81 for a two-day total of 163 and a tie for 60th place. Edgar opened his round on #10 and shot a 41 on the back nine, then carded an identical 41 on the front nine for his 82. He had one birdie and seven pars during his round.

Sam Clark of Wilmington leads medal play with a two-day score of even par 144, while IUP’s Kenneth Sames is second at 146. There are a total of 108 players at the regional.

Wilmington leads the team competition with a score of 601, with IUP second at 606 and Charleston third at 609.

The top four teams at the Super Regional will advance to the NCAA Championships May 18-22, at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover, North Carolina. The next two best individual scores not including the top four team qualifiers will also qualify for nationals.
